Welcome!

Change that to "National Secular Service Day is held on the first Sunday in October each year. This year's date is Sunday, October 3rd. On and around this date, nonreligious organizations all over America (and beyond) will unite in performing acts of community service.  We encourage anyone and everyone to get involved!  Here’s how you can help:

  • Simply curious?  Read our About section to find out why NSSD was created, and why so many people are excited to serve.  You can also head over to FAQ if you have any unanswered questions, or read the Learn section to find out more about service and secular culture.
  • Want to serve?  See the For Organizers section to help your group get started on creating a project.  If you are looking for a group to join, the Events sections should help you locate one in your area.
  • Member of the Press?  A press release is located here, and contact information for NSSD’s organizers is here.
  • Any questions not answered on this website can be directed to secularserviceday@gmail.com.
